Occupational therapy involves assisting people in returning to and performance of their everyday activities. Occupational therapists (OTs) are degreed and licensed professionals who help people regain their skills to participate in the activities we all do on a daily basis after an illness or injury. These activities include both the simple and complicated tasks and include: writing, eating, holding, grabbing, driving, bathing or improving cognitive functions. Occupational therapists treat people from all ages including children with disabilities.

Some conditions commonly treated by Occupational Therapists Include:

     - Hand and Upper Extremity Injuries
     - Fine Motor Control Issues
     - Eating/Grasping Difficulty
     - Developmental Delay Issues

Most of CORA’s OTs are hand therapists, specially trained to rehabilitate injuries of the hand and upper extremity. Of these, many are Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs).
